A Video Journey—–the capture of on-the-spot movements and emotions of dance creation “Wojoud Wa Hodoud”

Creating videos of my journey of making visions of dance come alive is fun. The video are my tickets to unbeatable nostalgia.
In August 2017, after coming back from a-two-year study of anthropology in Europe, reconciling my feelings about my heritage, acknowledging of the multi-culture that composes my identity drove me to create a duet dance with my younger brother.
This is the birth of “Wojoud Wa Hodoud”.

It has been in development for one year. Started from a duet, the dance creation evolves into a piece featuring moments in eight young dancers’ lives told through movements, sound and installation.
In the past 12 months, we made 10 videos capture the movements, patterns, shapes, dynamics, the colors, textures, design elements of the dance creation, and the various emotions we had taking on the journey: excitement, anxiety, curiosity, frustration and AMAZEMENT.
